Flames of the Forest launched its One person, One tree, One world (OOO Project) on world environment day in 2004. The primary goal was to develop a way for guests who dined in our ancient Queensland rainforests to “give back” to the rainforest that they have enjoyed for that one special evening...
So the obvious choice was a tree! And now future diners will have more rainforests to enjoy!
In Partnership with Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA), all guests have to do is sign a registrar and a tree is planted on your behalf.
OOO Project Goals:
- Demonstrate environmentally aware and/or sustainable business strategies and practices.
- To replant cleared land with diverse rainforests species with the aim to assist with the effects of land erosion and global warming.
- Build rainforest corridors to assist in the regeneration of local animal habitats such as the cassowary.
Planting Projects:
The following numbers have been planted in the below listed regions around Cairns and Port Douglas Queensland Australia since 2004 as a direct result from the OOO Project. Trees planted to date - 12,190.
