We felt so privileged to have experienced the night. The service was fantastic, the meal was delicious and we loved the dreamtime stories and didgeridoo playing. It was such a memorable evening and one that will stay with us forever!! Thank you for making our trip to Port Douglas so special. It was a real highlight!!

You haven’t been to the Tropical North until you’ve gained a little understanding of its Indigenous people.

Originating from the Daintree Rainforest, the Kuku Yalanji people have been living in harmony with their rainforest and reef environment for over 50,000 years. An integral part of the belief system of the Kuku Yalanji people (rainforest ‘’bama”) is centered around nature and the intimate knowledge of Mother Nature’s cycles.

Each Thursday night, journey into Dreamtime legend and discover the magic of local indigenous culture. Join the Flames of the Forest Cultural Experience with two Kuku Yalanji brothers sharing their remarkable culture with you during the evening. The performance features a cultural background story, traditional Dreamtime storytelling, didgeridoo playing, and song.

The rainforest is the natural, authentic backdrop for this spiritual and mystical culture, a performance unique to Flames of the Forest, where you will learn about nature, heritage and spirituality and emerge with a true understanding of where you’ve been through timeless oral traditions.

This experience closes every year between December and April
